Well the grandparents came out today with Christmas presents and one of the things they got for me is a leather photo album with a M on the cover. Well I got to thinking about what to put in that photo album because you can see how it definatly has a higher status than all my other albums which are from walmart or some other store where I got them for under 20$ but this one makes them completly noticeable. I realized as long as you put cheaper albums next to eachother they dont look bad... but if I threw this leather one in there it really wouldnt help that situation so I was pondering what pictures I could have that would be important enough for such an album. As much as it may surprise you... my answer was the True Pictures. After looking through some of my pictures of when I was a baby and up to pictures I've taken this year I realized there are 2 kinds of pictures... Fake pictures and True pictures.
Fake pictures are the ones we're trained for. Think about it... when we're a baby one of the first things we are told to do is Smile for the camera. It really doesnt matter if you're happy or not you smile for the camera or else. No one wants a sad picture in the albums... they want a happy picture so fuck what you're feeling and smile for the damn camera.
Then there are TRUE pictures. Those are the ones where they arent looking at the camera and arent expecting a picture to be taken. If you're really lucky you could catch them with a smile on their face. I have a picture of my best friend, Katie (hardcorerelief) that was taken as a true picture. It is the most beautiful picture I have of her because when I took it she was truly happy. Noone told her to smile, she smiled because she was truly happy. That is a beautiful picture....
